Portable PTC Heater Industry knowledge

Cixi BEILIGE Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. has manufactured electric heaters in Cixi, Zhejiang since 1981. As a Portable PTC Heater manufacturer we build fan-assisted ceramic heaters from 750 W to 2400 W for household, office, hotel and private-label programs, supported by a 50,000 m² plant, 20 assembly lines and a yearly capacity of 6,000,000 units.

The range belongs to our ceramic constant temperature heater family and follows one design logic throughout: a self-regulating PTC element, a matched fan and duct, an adjustable thermostat and a layered safety chain instead of a single cut-out. A distributor stocking a winter program, a retail chain building an own-brand collection and a project buyer specifying heaters for a hotel refurbishment all start from the same platform and then fix power, controls, oscillation, timer and packaging around it.

Four Platform Families in the Range

Every portable model we make falls into one of four families, and the family decides the housing, airflow path and control architecture before any specification detail is discussed.

  • Cabinet heaters with carry handle (HPC-D1501, D1501L, D1502, D1502L) — 750/1500 W, cool and warm wind, adjustable thermostat and automatic temperature control for desk-side and floor-level heating.
  • Oscillating cabinets (HPC-D1501Y, D1501YL, D1504YL, D1504YL-D) — the same thermal core with side-to-side air delivery for rooms where heat must spread across a seating or work area.
  • Desktop and high-power formats (HPC-D1502Y, D1502YL, D1503L, D1503-1, D1504L, D1505YL) — compact fast-heating bodies up to 1000/2000 W, DC-motor quiet versions and touch-control versions with timer.
  • Flame-effect and full-function models (HPC-F2408YL, F2408YL-1, F2409YL, F2409YL-1, F2010YL, F2013YL, F2014YL, F2014YL-1) — 1500/2400 W or 1000/2000 W platforms with simulated flame, LED touch display, 10–49 °C temperature setting and 1–24 hour timer.

Where a project needs heaters fixed above floor level, the same PTC ceramic technology is available in our Wall Mounted Heater range; the full list of product families we manufacture sits on the BLG heater product range.

How the PTC Element Shapes Performance

A PTC ceramic block raises its resistance as it warms, so current draw falls away once the target temperature is reached. The element cannot run away to glowing-wire temperatures, which keeps surface heat lower and makes the heater self-limiting under blocked-airflow or unattended conditions.

  • Fast response — ceramic mass heats within seconds of switch-on, so warm air reaches the outlet before the room has cooled further.
  • Stable output — self-regulation holds delivered heat close to the thermostat setting instead of cycling between hot and cold blasts.
  • Airflow matching — fan curve, duct geometry and fin spacing are set together; the DC-motor versions in the range reduce noise while keeping the same thermal output.
  • Year-round use — cool-wind mode turns the unit into a fan outside the heating season, which extends the selling window for distributors.

For rooms where warm air has to be pushed across a wide area rather than straight ahead, the HPC-D1501Y/D1501YL oscillating Portable PTC Heater adds a swinging outlet to the same 750/1500 W platform.

Configuration We Build to Order

Configuration starts from the platform and then moves through the control and safety list, so a single order can carry several SKUs that share mouldings, elements and cartons.

  • Power pairs — 750/1500 W, 1000/2000 W, 1500/2400 W and 1700/2400 W variants, with rated voltage, frequency and plug type set to the destination market.
  • Control interface — mechanical adjustable thermostat, automatic temperature control, LED display with touch keys, or timer-based scheduling from 1 to 24 hours.
  • Air delivery — fixed outlet, oscillating outlet or side-to-side swing, with AC or DC fan motor depending on the noise target.
  • Safety set — overheat cut-out and thermal fuse as standard on the heating circuit, with tip-over switch, flame-effect lighting or additional external thermostat offered as options.
  • Appearance — housing colour, paint finish, handle and flame window are produced on our own injection moulding, punching and paint lines, so brand colour and trim stay consistent between production runs.

Safety and Electrical Architecture

Protection is layered rather than dependent on one device: the PTC element limits itself, the control circuit cuts power at the overheat threshold, and a thermal fuse backs both up if airflow is blocked or the fan stalls. On request, an integral tip-over switch isolates the heater when the body leaves its upright position.

The heating path uses no open flame and no exposed glowing element, so outlet temperatures stay within limits the housing and grill are designed for. Cable length, plug standard and label language are matched to the market the goods are declared for, and the electrical layout is documented for the certification route the order requires.

Manufacturing, Testing and Acceptance

Our quality route runs through six controlled stages, staffed by a 31–40 person QC team: supplier evaluation, certified testing of the product, incoming parts control, process monitoring on the assembly line, product inspection and routine test before packing. Certificate coverage across our heater lines includes CE, CB, GS, EMC and BSCI.

  • Incoming parts — PTC elements, thermostats, fuses, motors and cords are checked against drawing and sample before release to the line.
  • In-process — wiring, earthing and control assembly are monitored at fixed points rather than only at final inspection.
  • Routine test — each unit is powered and function-checked for heat output, fan operation, control response and protection cut-out.
  • Acceptance support — inspection records, sample retention and pre-shipment inspection arrangements are agreed with the customer at order confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which power ratings can we order?

The portable range covers 750/1500 W, 1000/2000 W, 1500/2400 W and 1700/2400 W pairs, depending on platform. Voltage and frequency are set to the destination market, so the same housing can be produced for different grid standards.

Is the heater self-limiting if airflow is blocked?

Yes. PTC ceramic resistance rises with temperature and reduces current draw, and the unit additionally carries an overheat cut-out and a thermal fuse. A tip-over switch is available as an option on the cabinet and oscillating models.

Can you produce private-label versions?

We produce to customer drawings and samples, including housing colour, control fascia, flame window, packaging artwork and label language. The minimum order is 1,000 units per model.

What is the warranty and spare-parts position?

Product warranty is one year, and we ship 1% free spare parts with the order. Common service items are thermostats, thermal fuses, fan motors, switches and power cords.

Which certifications apply to this range?

Certificate coverage across our heater lines includes CE, CB, GS, EMC and BSCI. The applicable scheme is confirmed per model and destination when the order specification is fixed.
